Recovery & Wellbeing College Course Support Volunteer

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust Volunteers provide essential support to all Trust services, both clinical and non-clinical in multiple roles, focusing on Prevention, Recovery and Wellbeing. The Trust recognises and values the unique contribution volunteers make towards improving the patient experience and complementing the services provided by the trust.

TRAINING AND SUPPORT

• All Volunteers must undertake the standard Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust Volunteer training prior to volunteering

• All Volunteers must have standard DBS checks prior to volunteering

• We would ask all volunteers to Sign up and attend a Recovery College Course to gain understanding of Recovery College.

• If you want to sign up to Mental Health First Aid and First Aid courses these will be made available to you, on your request.

• You will receive regular updates on organisational activities.

UNIFORM

• Humber NHS volunteer badge and lanyard (provided)

• Humber NHS Volunteer T-shirt can be worn but not essential (provided)

• Smart and comfortable clothing

YOUR COMMITMENT

• There is no set number of hours that we ask you to volunteer. We ask that you volunteer for a fixed regular time slot and commit to the workshop/course you wish to support (e.g. committing to support a course for 1 term of 8 weeks).

• If you are unable to attend a session for any reason, please inform the Recovery College or the course tutor at least 48hrs in advance. This will allow us to find alternative cover.

SUPERVISION AND COMMUNICATION

You will be working alongside a Recovery College Course tutor who will be your initial supervisor in this role. If you have any worries or queries you should address them to the Recovery and Wellbeing College team or the Voluntary Services team (via email)

EXPENSES

You can be reimbursed for travel cost incurred whilst supporting the Humber Recovery and Wellbeing College (with the only exception being uses of taxis). The Voluntary Services team can provide further information on how to claim.

Freedom to Act

• Guided by Trust policies and procedures

• Carries out placement within well established procedures.

• Role is supervised within the area of placement.

Summary

This role description is an outline of the key tasks and responsibilities of the volunteer and the volunteer may be required to undertake additional, appropriate duties. The role may change over time to reflect the developing needs of the Trust and its services.
